Job Description
The Welder is responsible for producing high-quality weldments and fabricated components used in agricultural equipment and replacement parts. This role performs MIG welding and basic fabrication tasks while maintaining quality standards, production efficiency, and workplace safety. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform MIG welding on mild steel and other materials as required
- Read and follow blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols
- Fabricate and assemble metal components according to specifications
- Inspect finished welds to ensure strength, accuracy, and quality
- Operate hand tools and shop equipment safely
- Maintain welding equipment and report any issues
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Work with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals
- Identify and communicate quality or production concerns
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Solid MIG welding experience
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and welding symbols
- Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication setting preferred
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good time management and ability to meet production goals
- Basic troubleshooting skills for welding equipment
- Welding certification preferred but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of welding or fabrication experience preferred (willing to train the right candidate)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted (heavier items with assistance)
- Good hand coordination to safely operate welding equipment and hand tools
- Ability to clearly see and inspect weld quality and read detailed drawings
