What are tub grinders?
Tub grinders use a series of rotors, knives, or hammers to process and chop up both round and square bales or in some cases wood. After the tub grinder processes the desired materials, it shoots it up a discharge elevator which can be raised, lowered, swung or folded to your desire hydraulically. These processed bales can be used for either feeding or bedding cattle. Tub grinders are beneficial to cattle owners because they reduce labor, cows consume more and waste less hay, cornstalks, or other material that is being processed. Because of its discharge elevator to distribute the processed product into pens, bunks, or other areas for feeding or bedding, gives cattle equal feeding room while the processing blows away dust and mold from the final product. Tub grinders come in a range of horsepower requirements and are also known as hay grinders and/or wood grinders.
