Parts Counter Representative 

DEPARTMENT: EQUIPMENT

This is a fast-paced, full-time role and is best suited for someone who already understands ag parts and can hit the ground running. This role supports many different equipment lines and replacement parts. There’s a lot of product variety in this position, and that’s what makes it fun. The right candidate already has strong ag parts knowledge, catches on quickly, enjoys customer interaction, and takes ownership of helping customers find the right part while managing a steady volume of phone and walk-in requests. 

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner in person and over the phone.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate parts and solutions.
  • Provide detailed product information and answer customer inquiries.
  • Manage a steady volume of phone and walk-in requests while maintaining accuracy and a calm, helpful tone.
  • Accurately and efficiently process over-the-counter and phone sales transactions.
  • Create quotes and place orders by consulting price lists, vendor catalogs, and product literature.
  • Manage and grow customer accounts with regular, planned outreach and timely follow-ups to support repeat business.
  • Strengthen relationships with current customers and identify opportunities to better support their operations.
  • Build and manage a prospect pipeline by researching potential outlets/partners, generating and qualifying leads, and converting prospects into active accounts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory by placing orders, restocking shelves, and keeping products organized.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse to ensure accurate, on-time deliveries and clear communication on order status.
  • Process returns and exchanges per company policy; support shipping and receiving as needed.
  • Address customer concerns promptly and communicate issues and solutions to management.
  • Represent the company at events, trade association meetings, and trade shows as needed.

  • Required: strong working knowledge of ag equipment parts; cattle feeder equipment/parts knowledge strongly preferred. 
  • Required: proven ability to learn multiple product lines quickly and confidently identify the correct part. 
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with a friendly, helpful, problem-solving mindset. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while maintaining accuracy. 
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy (quotes, orders, part numbers, shipping). 
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus (willing to train). 
  • Ability to adapt to frequent changes in priority and complete tasks safely and effectively with minimal supervision. 
  • Forklift/pallet jack experience is a plus (willing to train). 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods. 
  • Ability to lift and carry parts and equipment of 50 lbs or more.
