JOB DESCRIPTION
Schedule, communicate, and work with shop technicians, customers, vendors, and the sales team on farm equipment repairs and rebuilds while enhancing a positive atmosphere. Process paperwork as needed and troubleshoot scales.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with the shop manager regarding quoting repairs and rebuilds.
• Manage the shop (including customer phone calls) while the shop manager is away.
• Work directly with the shop manager with scheduling projects to be completed.
• Oversee shop techs.
o Lead the shop team by supporting, encouraging, and modeling a positive attitude.
o Work with shop techs to diagnose and repair farm equipment.
o Ensure work is done properly and efficiently.
o Ensure shop and tools are being taken care of by keeping them clean, organized and in working order.
• Communicate with vendors on repair issues and staying up to date with new equipment.
• Go over repair worksheets with shop techs.
• Work with shop manager regarding warranty work.
o Knowledge of what is covered under warranty and what is not – communicate with vendors.
o Complete warranty paperwork
o Deal with warranty issues (ex: damaged part not covered by warranty)
• Work on own projects in the shop.
• Oversee consumable inventory.
o Report to shop manager when items need to be ordered.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Have 2+ years of related experience OR an associate degree in a related program.
• Are mechanically skilled, customer focused, and an independent problem-solver who enjoys a fast-paced environment.
• Can use computer programs as needed to complete your work.
• Love to learn and stay up to date on training and certifications.
PREFERRED SKILLS
The following skills are not required but are a plus.
• Welding
• Torching
• Plasma cutting
• Hydraulic experience
• Troubleshooting
• Operating forklifts, tractors, and a service truck
