JOB DESCRIPTION
The Material Handler/Delivery Driver is responsible for efficiently managing and transporting materials, ensuring safe and accurate delivery of goods to customers and subcontractors locally. This role requires proficiency in forklift operations, steel truck unloading, packaging shipments, and coordinating deliveries. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has a positive attitude, and can effectively work with others. They will also be an ambassador of the company when out on deliveries, adhering to safety compliance and customer satisfaction at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Unload steel trucks and other incoming materials.
- Mark and check in materials as they arrive.
- Package shipments for UPS and LTL (Less-than-Truckload) deliveries.
- Wrap and band pallets to secure materials for shipping.
- Load trucks for LTL and Hotshot deliveries.
- Deliver finished products to customers.
- Deliver materials to subcontract partners.
- Assist with small parts assembly as needed.
- Actively participate in safety compliance and best practices.
- Represent the company while out on deliveries, providing excellent customer service.
- Perform routine pre-inspections prior to use, ensuring proper function and safety.
- Follow scheduled maintenance routines, reporting any issues or discrepancies.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position would be a great fit for you if you:
- Have experience with forklift operations and steel truck unloading.
- Have a CDL or ability to obtain one.
- Are able to safely and efficiently load and deliver materials.
- Are a self-starter with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Work well with others and are able to maintain professional relationships with customers and subcontractors.
- Can adapt to different tasks as needed, including small parts assembly.
PREFERRED SKILLS
The following skills are not required but are a plus:
- Load securement experience.
- Crane and forklift experience.
- Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) – Not Required.
- Experience assisting in picking, packing, and loading raw materials and finished goods.
